received from Shanghai showing the

fines, duties and surtax levied in

respect of smuggled cargo since the

new Chinese Manifest Regulations came

into force on the 20th of March, 1931.

be glad to receive a statement of the

fines levied at Swatow and Canton

when the figures are available, and also

available

any information that may be in your

possession as to the amount representing

fines imposed in connection with

ships
